Municipal Information System for Agriculture Program - Pilot Project in Mauban

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Southern Luzon 4-A is celebrating the 48th anniversary today.

The anniversary will start with the blessing from the multipurpose hall of the Regional Food Safety and Top quality Assurance Center (RFSQAC) at Jamboree Route to be attended by Cavite 1st District Representative Joseph Emilio A. Abaya, Laguna 2nd District Representative Justin Indicate SB. Chipeco and Science & Technology Admin Mario G. Montejo.

DOST Assistant Secretary Robert O. Dizon and Eduardo R. Nicolas III, regional governor of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Market (PCCI) will grace the event according to Dr. Alexander R. Madrigal, DOST 4A regional movie director.

They will unveil the 3rd centennial marker which cites the 300th device of the biogas digester designed and produced by DOST 4-A. The biogas digesters have been established in livestock farms in Southern, North and Central Luzon and Main Philippines.

The regional plan on Low Glycemic Palm Glucose will be launched by Main Science Research Specialist Lydia S. Manguiat.

The memorandum of agreement (MOA) on a municipal information system will be signed by Madrigal and Mauban, Quezon Mayor Fernando Llamas.

Mauban could be the pilot site of a project, in cooperation with the e-learning center of the DOST ICT Office (ICTO-NCC) that will create the municipal electronic information program. It will disseminate farming revisions, disaster-related bulletins and community announcements to farmers, local government officials and residents.
